CrestBid vs Procore for subcontractors

Procore runs projects from bid to final payment. CrestBid is built for one job: winning more of the bids a sub sends to GCs.

If you're a subcontractor, you've probably met Procore twice: once as the platform your GCs use to send you invites, and once as software you could buy for your own company. This page compares CrestBid with Procore's subcontractor offering, in plain terms.

Competitor details checked October 2026 against each vendor's public website. Plans change; check the vendor's site for current details.

Where Procore fits best

Procore is a broad construction management platform. Its subcontractor page covers the whole lifecycle, "from bid to final payment": quantity takeoff and estimating, bidding, invoicing and approvals, alignment with your accounting system, and mobile apps for field teams. Procore charges an upfront annual fee by product, based on your Annual Construction Volume, and doesn't charge for adding users. It fits best when you want one platform for the whole job, including the field, on an annual agreement.

Bidding on a GC's project in Procore doesn't require buying Procore: Procore's support docs describe responding to bid invitations from the invite email, and an optional free Procore account you can use to manage your profile and respond to bids.

What CrestBid is built for

CrestBid is narrower on purpose. It's bid tracking software for the sub's side of the table: one Bid Inbox for invites from every GC and bid site, one project with every bidding GC, GC scorecards that show who actually awards you work, a Go/No-Go score, and branded proposals with your inclusions, exclusions and Statement of Qualifications. It's the sub's own bid log and hit rate by GC, whichever platform each GC uses. Pricing is published and per user, with a free trial. Coming soon: a fit score on every invite in the Bid Inbox, lien waivers, pay apps with retainage, and QuickBooks Online.

Pricing at a glance

| | CrestBid | Procore | |---|---|---| | How it's priced | $49 per user per month (Pro), Free plan for 2 users | Annual fee by product, based on Annual Construction Volume; unlimited users (Field Productivity is priced by FTE) | | Published price | Yes | No; custom quote | | Free trial | 14 days, no credit card | Not listed on their pricing page |

Using them together

Subs who bid to GCs on Procore can keep a free Procore account for those invites. You can forward the invite emails Procore sends you to your CrestBid Bid Inbox and track those bids next to the ones from every other GC.

Questions subs ask us

Isn't CrestBid just another fee?

Pro is $49 per user per month, and the Free plan (2 users, 50 open opportunities) costs nothing. The 14-day Pro trial doesn't need a credit card, and when it ends you drop to the Free plan unless you choose to pay. For most subs, CrestBid replaces the giant Excel sheet and the Outlook follow-up flags, not the platforms your GCs use.

Would it mean more data entry?

Invites come in by forwarding the emails you already get, so nobody retypes the project, the GC and the bid date. Your existing bid log comes in with one spreadsheet import. CrestBid doesn't log in to any GC's portal; it works from the invite emails you forward and the files you import.

Does CrestBid use AI to price my bids?

No. CrestBid doesn't do takeoff and doesn't price your work; you set every number. The Bid Inbox reads each invite email to fill in the job details, and you check it before it goes on your board.
