CrestBid vs BuildingConnected Bid Board Pro

BuildingConnected is where many GCs send invites. CrestBid tracks those invites and every other GC's in one place.

A lot of your invites may come through BuildingConnected, Autodesk's bidding platform for general contractors, subcontractors and owners. Subs can use its Bid Board for free, and Bid Board Pro is its paid subscription for subcontractors. Here's how CrestBid compares.

Where BuildingConnected fits best

BuildingConnected describes its free Bid Board as a tool that lets subcontractors accept and submit bids, submit qualifications, access project files and message general contractors. Bid Board Pro, the paid subscription for subs, adds Plan Room discovery of new opportunities, tracking of bid invites, projects, who's working on what and due dates, bid forwarding from any source, win rates and team performance, bid analytics and reporting, and calendar sync. Autodesk doesn't publish a price for Bid Board Pro; its pricing page asks you to request a quote. BuildingConnected's help center says a Pro trial starts by requesting a demo, after which an account executive reaches out to set it up. It fits best when most of your GCs already bid through BuildingConnected and you want to stay in that network.

What CrestBid is built for

CrestBid is independent of any one GC network. Invites from BuildingConnected, PlanHub, Procore, email and phone calls all land in one Bid Inbox. On top of tracking, CrestBid adds GC scorecards that flag when a GC wins work but rarely awards you, a Go/No-Go score, bid history import, and branded proposals with your inclusions, exclusions and SOQ. It's one hit rate by GC across every network your GCs use. The price is published, and you can start a trial yourself. Coming soon: a fit score on every invite in the Bid Inbox, lien waivers, pay apps with retainage, and QuickBooks Online.

Questions subs ask us

Isn't CrestBid just another fee?

Pro is $49 per user per month, and the Free plan (2 users, 50 open opportunities) costs nothing. The 14-day Pro trial doesn't need a credit card, and when it ends you drop to the Free plan unless you choose to pay. For most subs, CrestBid replaces the giant Excel sheet and the Outlook follow-up flags, not the platforms your GCs use.

Would it mean more data entry?

Invites come in by forwarding the emails you already get, so nobody retypes the project, the GC and the bid date. Your existing bid log comes in with one spreadsheet import. CrestBid doesn't log in to any GC's portal; it works from the invite emails you forward and the files you import.

Does CrestBid use AI to price my bids?

No. CrestBid doesn't do takeoff and doesn't price your work; you set every number. The Bid Inbox reads each invite email to fill in the job details, and you check it before it goes on your board.
